One-on-One Sessions for Overcoming Loneliness

When does a counseling session make sense?

The Road Out of Loneliness described here is designed to provide science-based tools to help you overcome loneliness and build a fulfilling social life—for free! If you follow through with the exercises, chances are high that you will make noticeable improvements regarding your loneliness.

Be kind to yourself, stay patient, and try to be disciplined by remembering that these exercises typically require time and consistency to generate results. For example, recognizing and replacing cognitive distortions usually doesn’t happen overnight. Some exercises also require considerable courage and determination, such as practicing authenticity and saying or doing what we genuinely want. When we feel very hopeless and hurt, we might lack this courage and determination. At such times, a supportive nudge or deeper exploration of underlying root causes by an outsider can make a significant difference.

It’s also possible to reach a plateau in progress despite consistent effort and not understand why. In these situations, a one-on-one session can be beneficial to identify sticking points, bolster our resources, and adjust our game plan.

While it is likely that the exercises on this website will help you, loneliness can also have individual causes that are not covered here. Generally, an approach that respects individual differences in mental health challenges is usually more effective than a one-size-fits-all strategy. That’s why, in our one-on-one sessions, I incorporate coaching and integral psychotherapy methods to help uncover your unique challenges, perspectives, and solutions related to loneliness.

The cost of a one-hour session is 100 euros (PayPal accepted).
